About Diastolic BP
Diastolic blood pressure (DBP) is the pressure in the arteries when the heart rests between beats. It is a critical component of the blood pressure reading and is indicative of the heart's ability to relax and fill with blood. DBP is a predictor of cardiovascular risk and is used to evaluate treatment response in hypertensive patients.
